A Pollster's Pitcher?

Congratulations to the Colorado Rockies for their four game sweep of the National League Championship Series. What does this have to do with Pollster.com (other than the author's own hometown team obsession)? The answer is Rockies pitcher Jeff Francis, a physics and astronomy major at the University of British Columbia, who proved himself a pollster's pitcher who with this quote in the New York Times on Sunday:

They continued their remarkable run, riding Francis's six and-two-thirds innings and a two-run single by Brad Hawpe to win for the 18th time in 19 games, defeating the Diamondbacks, 5-1. Francis allowed one run and seven hits, improving to 4-0 with a 1.35 earned run average this season at Chase.

"I think it's just a small sample size of me not being here that long and having a good run against one team," Francis said.

Thanks to my friend Rick Ridder, both a pollster and devoted Rockies fan, for sending that clip my way.
