Field Marshal:

If kos has Boxer only up by 4 over Campbell (at the MOE) she is in trouble.

Emily,

How come some polls are posted over here while others are on the left side under 'updates'?

FieldMarshall: They should all be on the left, as this one now is. Every once in a while I put them in the wrong place. Thanks for the heads up, and sorry about that.

Farleft will never look at another DailyKos poll again. It is just a fraudulent polling outfit. Time and time again they have shown their right-leaning criminal activity. All of the pollsters should be jailed.

Campbell's got a solid shot here. He's generally well-liked and a social moderate, which should help keep the Democrats home.

Besides, who isn't angry about the deficit? Whether or not she likes it, Boxer owns it.

Also, Poizner is in the Governor's race, not the Senate. That's actually DeVore.

Brown hasn't spent a dime on this Governor's race while Whitman has spent 10 million+ Good luck to her she'll need it considering the last gov was Republican.

To blame Schwarzenegger for the problems in California is like blaming Churchill for British deaths during WWII. Makes no sense. The man tried like he11 to get the state legislature to cut spending but they just wouldn't do it. Good help anyone who wants this job. The libs destroyed what was once a great state.

Did you see that the state lost population and for the first time will not gain any house seats or electoral votes? Meanwhile, small government Texas is gaining 4 electoral votes. All thanks to the great governance of GW Bush and Perry.

Xenobion:

You're going to cite census data to me like people are moving based off of politics? Puh-leeze. Texas only is gaining that many based off of Hurricane Katrina where everyone moved away from. Texas has attracted business there though at the cost of being one of the worst unenvironmentally sound states in the union.

As for CA. Schwarzenegger vetoed the budget several times. His ink was on the signing of it when he thought he got it right. Guess not. Look at the history of California. It thrived under liberal governors, even Brown who is running again. Try again at revionist history.

Field Marshal:

LOL. So the only people moving to Texas are from Hurricane Katrina SIX YEARS AGO!!? That's hysterical. And yes, its all politics related. When you destroy the economic viability of a state, one with as much natural resources and beautiful climate as Cali does, it has everything to do with political management. Companies are leaving the state in droves to lower tax locales.

@Field Marshall
If you don't want to blame Arnold for the problems in California then you have to agree that the same standard applies to Corzine in New Jersey. Had Corzine and Schwarzenegger been governors of NJ and CA from 1994 to 1998 they'd probably be the most popular governors in the country. Timing is everything in politics.

____________________

Field Marshal:

Arhhhnold is partially to blame. Corzine is too. But the legislatures of both states are MUCH MORE to blame.

From 94 to 98 we had an economic expansion and thus tax receipts expanded rapidly. But politicians being politicians, they think the money is endless so they spend the extra money and then some. But when the inevitable recession arrives and the money dries up, they can't cut any of the stuff they spent the money on because they are "essential services".

Uhhhh sorry to break it to you FM but yes people fled Hurricane Katrina and moved to Arkansas and Texas. Texas took the biggest number of refugees that to this day many have moved there and abandoned their homes in LA. Its the greatest modern day diaspora according to the Census. The Census is done ever 10 years if you don't recall and obviously the addresses/numbers of 2000 barely apply after Katrina. Its been reported that LA is to lose 1-2 electoral votes because of Katrina. Obviously these people went to another state.
