Hmm, I'm skeptical. Probably overstating Fiorina's position by a little bit.

Did anyone see the Fiorina/Boxer debate Wednesday night? So many ridiculous questions.

SUSA still the only pollster to have shown Boxer trailing.

They seem to have a very strong +GOP likely voter model. Time will tell if they are correct.

What's the matter with California? They don't want moonbeam, the white-haired, bald-headed ex hippy as their governor?

Maybe they realize the 70's are over and the once great state of California has been reduced to a bankrupt failure due to the liberal politicians running the state for the past 40 years.

Hopefully Whitman can stand as strong as Christie and smash the public employee unions that are destroying the state. That is California's only hope for rescue. Brown would coddle them as much as Obama and that is a recipe for disaster. They have to be stopped.

There is no way that we should be paying our government employees twice what a private sector employee earns. No wonder we have multi-trillion dollar federal deficits and trillions more in state deficits.

Whitman, I don't really trust, and this election is the one I am following the closest. Whitman isn't as untrustworthy as Fiorina, since she is somewhat moderate. I think Jerry Brown has not run a good campaign. He is past his prime as a legislator. He just can't compete with someone who outspends him like 10 to 1. I guess the people of California don't mind getting their votes bought.

It is a state made up of some of the greatest rock musicians, and other celebrities. Hopefully the Hollywood vote and the bay area vote will be strong enough to counteract the right wing machine from the Central valley and Northern San Diego suburbs.

I have news for everyone though, if it is the economy, I don't think things will get a whole lot better for awhile. The gop won't make it better, and without jobs bills, I predict the unemployment rate would have been much worse. In fact history will show that Tarp, and other stimulus programs will have prevented the same kind of depression that some countries like Spain are going through.

Survey USA has a surge for Boxer. Rasmussen had a higher percentage of Indepenent voters for Boxer, and I still find 20 percent of African American voters supporting Fiorina suspect. Boxer has picked up among hispanic voters, and she nailed it on the head in the debate, when she mentioned that Fiorina has been one of the contributors to outscourcing in America. She is not as bad as a Rand Paul or Sharron Angle, but still would be an embarrasment to the state.

Perhaps, if either one of these people wins and they are really bad, we can eventually recall the election, and get revenge on what they did to lynch Gray Davis.

-Unfortunately, this will never be known one way or the other. It's not like you can compare this to an alternate universe where Tarp wasn't passed by Bush/Obama. Comments like this are nothing but speculation, and can never be more than that.

Prop 13 caused the financial problems the state has. And it directly led to the weakening of what was the best higher education system in the country.

Ryan, you will never know if you are correct or I am correct for 2 years or more. Currently the trend is to "blame Obama" and of course blaming the person in power is the best way to take control, but just because we lose an election, doesn't mean that 2 years from now the economy will get get better.

I think that the GOP is just saying they wouldn't have passed Tarp. I think that Mccain would have still spent money to get the economy going.

Every SUSA poll I've seen relating to the West Coast has absolutely bizarre readings relating to major Metro areas. In several OR polls, they show a Republican leading or tied in Portland, which is idiotic. In several WA polls, they show a Republican competitive with Patty Murray in metro Seattle, which is totally stupid, and in both of these polls they show the Republican candidates even or a little bit ahead in Greater LA and only winning by low double digits in the Bay Area.

Have they never seen actual election results from those states?

And Fiorina has to keep hitting Boxer about being another typical career politician who has never had a real job and is completely displaced from reality. Being corporate and anti-washington will win this for Carli.

Considering that Boxer worked as a stockbroker, I agree, she's never had a real job.

I love it when well off Republicans who listen to hate radio and watch Faux all day think they are the final word on who has a "real job."

Boxer was never a teacher. She was a stockbroker for 2 years back in the early 70's. She also was associate editor/journalist in CA for a small newspaper for 20 months in the mid-70's, but that's it.

Libies clamor all the time about how a GOP candidate has no experience- such accusations have been thrown against Linda McMahaon and Carli Fiorina. Do you think that Boxer had (or even still has) the experience to be one of two senators from the largest state in the country? She worked a total of 3.5 years in the private sector- partly in a job that no longer exists (stockbroker) and one that is going extinct (journalist) yet she represents 38 million people.

I would say no.

When I have a plumbing problem, I call a plumber. With over two decades of experience, in federal public service, Boxer is precisely the type of person I would want to represent the largest state in Washington.

And who said she was a teacher?

If Boxer keeps hammering Fiorina over her stewardship, she'll win. As for the governor's race, lets wait for the debates. I think its basically a toss up right now. I live in California, BTW.

As I have said many times Meg Whitman is the one and only Rep I am routing for this cycle. The GOP should take a lesson from her. Of course you righties on here would call her a RINO. God forbid a republican be practical and moderate.

If Boxer loses this race, it will not really be Fiorina to blame as much as it will be, if Blacks and hispanics and younger voters refuse to come out to vote. They might as well not even voted for Obama, if they can't continue to support the issues that they voted for.

I say this because, CA has a high percentage of young voters, and Non-whites make up nearly 45 percent. Demographically, it is almost impossible for a candidate as conservative as Fiorina to win.

I mean, Mass, only has a 20 percent minority population, which clearly made Scott Brown's victory more feasable in my book, than for Fiorina.
