Fred:

Tancredo should just drop out. It's silly that he's in this race just to make a point. He was a guy I didn't like during the 2008 Republican primary. He doesn't need to run against these guys to prove a point. He's just making himself look bad by doing so.

These are MOE shifts for Maes and Hick, but Tancredo's lost half of his support. Keep running, Tanc!

Fred,

I do think he will eventually drop as his support drops. I still think Hick wins this by mid-to-high single digits but its getting closer. CO GOP needs to revamp. Buck is a strong candidate and well liked. Otherwise, there isn't much going for it statewide.

Maes is damaged goods. Is he even raising any money? Has he even filed an campaign finance report Does he still think that bicycles are a UN plot?

For the republicans to have a chance bothe maes anTancredo would have to drop out and the Republicans would have to find a credible candidate. This is one of several races where the Republicans have started the race by shooting themselves in the leg.

Funny that Hick has 5% less support than Bennet from the same sample. I thought that Bennet was the weaker candidate.

Hickenlooper is actually a very decent man and a surprisingly good politician. Dan Maes is Dopey from Snow White & The Seven Dwarves.

It would be great if Maes and Tancredo dropped out (and I think Tancredo is still willing to do it, but time is about up as the ballots go to the printers pretty soon).

Personally, I will vote for whomever between them has the highest poll numbers when I vote.

Even if Tancredo dropped out, I think you would be surprised that a good chunk of his support would drift back to Hickenlooper. The concern over illegal immigration in Colorado is not as an partisan issue as it is in states outside of the West. There are many Democrats (not to mention left-leaning independents) who will hold their noses and vote for Tancredo because they want a strong deterent to illegal aliens entering Colorado (as they flee Arizona). On the other hand, there are Republicans like me who think the answer is to make legal immigration easier (if more directed) because we think immigration has been and will be a strength of the US.
