The first two items bring up an interesting question. Obama's nation-wide approval is at 50% based on Gallup as pointed out in the first link but how does that equate to states and electoral votes? The second link shows that Obama's approval in under water in every state that flipped from Bush to Obama in 2008. He only has an average approval of about 45% in those states.
In order for him to have a 50% approval, there must be some states where his approval far outweighs his disapproval. It would be interesting to see a state by state breakdown to see how lopsided his approval or disapproval is.
