Crist should do the Lieberman thing and run as an independent against Meek and Rubio. He should say that publicly as a way to win votes. You know what would happen if a Progressive is on the ballot vs as a moderate and a Neo-con. I think you would see the Ross Perot affect.

Ha..Good luck with this. I'm in Fl, Gainesville as a matter of fact..and mark my words Crist will not become a senator. Wait until people truly knows his record. As house speaker, Rubio voted to raises fees (ahem, taxes) and he is pro immigration the same way Crist is. IF the wingers of north florida decide to vote Rubio in, Crist will simply Leiberman his arse and run as an indy and get ALOT of Dem support, MOST of the INDY support and some REp support...but the Cuban Obama (Rubio) is the future of the Republican party (ha!)

Did you post this after my comment or before? It would be pretty strange if we posted this at the same time.

I am not sure if Crist would win among that many Democrats because I think a majority of the new Democratic base wants progressives.

If Crist stays in the primary till he probably wont even get 20% at this rate, possibly less than 10%. His slide downward is stunning. He started off ahead of Rubio by around 50 points.

Politics aside, this race is just becoming down right funny. Back waxings? $11 hair cuts as a sign of who's a "true" fiscal conservative? Pretty soon someone is going to have a baby with their camera woman....

It is pretty sad that our country is so un-partisan and the GOP has done everything to be devisive and allow this gridlock to continue, that Crist may lose this primary because he shook hands with Obama and seemed to wish him good luck. In today's modern Republican circles, that is a career killer. Just being civil has probably cost Crist the nomination.

I didn't realize that taking bailout funds to save the state from the financial brink would equivocate to a tea-bagging Hispanic redneck winning the Gop nomination.

Mark my words that Crist is going rogue by the way of 3rd party. He won't even bother with the primary because he will drop out to avoid the douchebag Republican beatdown.

Meeks- Democrat
Crist- Independent
Rubio- Republican

A tea bagging hispanic redneck?

I think its official, the left has totally gone berzerk. I am now in favor of federally funding mental health clinics across the country because you lefty's are in seirous need of some attention.

To steal a tactic from you leftwingnuts, its clear to me that if you do not like Rubio then you are without a doubt a racist and hate all latino's.

Chillax Stillow, but I think Mel Martinez was more of my kind of Hispanic Republican than Rubio will ever be...he has been more than wishy washy about supporting immigration reform, something very big in Miami and Orlando...so let's wait till the debates and hear him say he is anti-immigration for the whole lot to hear. Sad that as a cuban he is GUARANTEED citizenship, but a Dominican or El Salvadoran is not.

@farleft I didn't see your comment before I posted, so I guess we posted at the same time

@Farleft I would love to think Meek would be a good bet, but he is from Miami and went to school in Tallahassee, there is a good swath in between that have no idea who he is. He has been doing alot of grassroots stuff coming out to the universities, but I have friends who work for the State and they are Dems through and through and I don't know what kind of hippie juice they have been drinking but they LOVE Crist, and the majority of people in florida (outside of Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, or Miami) work for the state and the majority are Dems. I wish Meek would win, but I have my doubts. I think if it is Meek V Rubio, it would be tough..many people would sit out on both sides, but Crist V Rubio V Meek, there are enough flexibles in all camps to let Crist win

I think the dems should look into putting up Betty Castor against Rubio. Kendrick Meek cannot win a statewide election. To put up a candidate against Rubio in the general election that will basically hand Rubio the senate seat is really dumb on the part of the democratic party.
