I gotta go with the plurality here...he hasn't done anything yet to deserve an award like that. I am not saying he wouldn't deserve it in the future based on what he does, but its just humerous and totally a plitical move right th have it given now.

He was nominated 2 weeks after becoming president. Nobel Peace Prize has been a joke for decades anyways. Ysir Arafat?

It's hard even for many, if not most, liberal Democrats to believe Obama has done enough to deserve ANY great peace prize. So I'm not sure these results have much to do with the President's popularity.

This is a collateral and short-lived issue that will serve, if anything, to give him more prestige abroad, where people care about these things. I am happy about it overall because it might help his realist policies work a little better. I support his shift away from the Bush doctrine, American exceptionalism, we can "go it alone" approach. I doubt we can today. He basically got the prize for not following Bush's policies.

Obama didn't ask for the award and said he didn't think he deserved it. I think we should leave it at that.

Arafat wasn't soley awarded the Nobel, he shared it with Rabin and Perez because of their joint peace efforts. At the time I'm sure it seemed like a reasonable choice, and if they had waited a few years I doubt they would have made the same pick. Picking out one (actually, half of one) example in hindsight is hardly proof that the prize is meaningless.

That Obama was nominated so early is also fairly meaningless.

That said, it was a very odd choice which slighted some more worthy candidates.

Given the consensus that Obama didn't deserve the prize, 33% approval and under 50% disapproval of it are pretty good numbers out of Florida.

Oh, come on. This poll shows Crist's job approval rating below 50, and you talk about the nobel prize?

This is probably an outlier, but if not, it spells doom for Crist's primary election.
