These are the best candidates the Democrats can find? I would look at finding a younger blue dog Democratic version of Scott Brown who has experience at the state level and isn't associated with Washington.

So the ONLY candidate with net positive favorables in GA is a Democrat(???!!!) at this point...kind of strange. Isakson is the guy who pushed for "death panels" in the HCR bill (reimbursement for end of life counseling); perhaps he's not so much the darling of the teabaggers. He's generally been fairly moderate... for a Republican. Chambliss is simply a backbench type a la Burr in NC.

Obama's approval rating is higher than I had imagined in GA.

I'd NOT look for Blue Dogs. I'd look for populists....Huey Long types, at least in the state of GA; maybe it has some appeal. Oppose corporate welfare, Insurance company "death panels" (the real death panels in this country; once your care gets over 100k/yr they take an "up-close and personal" interest in your policy), multi-billion dollar investment company bonuses and a corporately-captured Congress

BTW....a populist would still lose but...would generate some excitement that might change the political climate and provide much needed oxygen for Dems in trouble in other states. They need to be seen as fighters and not just policy wonks. And they need something evil to fight. Easier to brand big corps as evil then repubs.
