Ins and Outs of Polling
Charles Franklin | September 11, 2008
I did an hour on Minnesota Public Radio on September 10 discussing polling techniques and issues. Here is a link to the audio. Good callers!
The focus on polling starts at 11:00 minutes into the show.

Fantastic job at explaining so many different aspects of polling. I was interested to hear about how low reponse rate had became and given the normally low rate, I was wondering what your view was of when an event, such as conventions or debates, leads to a bounce in the polls, how much of that bounce is 'real' and how much, if any, is differing response rates of the supporters. That is, if a positive event happens to canditate A, his/her supporters are more likely to agree to being polled and vise versa for canditate B. If differing response rates occurs during a bounce could this, in part, explain what happened in New Hampshire during the democratic primary after the Iowa 'bounce'?
