After you take away the 7 point republican lean, that Ramussen has been proven to have this cycyle, then this race is tied.

+4 move for Blunt over the last poll.

Ok Stillow I want to see you defend this one. Your candidate for Gov. Brian Sandoval has been caught on videotape (even though he lied about it twice and denied saying it) saying that he would not be concerned for his children with the new Arizona law because they "Don't look Hispanic". If I were Hispanic(Which I am not) the temptation to puch him in face would be great. That's up there with Harry's great comment that Barack does not speak in a "negro" dialect, but the difference is he was not talking about his children. Between Sharron Angle's off the wall comments... you have to wonder?

Mason-Dixon has Blunt +6. Do they have a "proven" 7 point lean too?

I agree that there's a slight edge to Blunt at this point. But these Missouri senate races tend to close up fast and go down to the wire. I still consider it a tossup.

Bigmike:

I still consider it a close race, mainly because of the GOTV the unions provide in St Louis and KC.

Rasmussen outlier or ahead of the times? Everyday libs post here that Ras's polls are out of line with other polls. The facts prove otherwise. Instead of an outlier Ras has proved to be weeks ahead other pollsters. It's really that simple. Do your homework, look back and check for yourself. Compare previous Ras polls to other pollsters more current polls. Then use that process and work your way backwards. You will be amazed at Ras's accuracy. Eventually they all seem to catch up with Ras. I'm aware that this takes a lot of the fun out of debating the polls and throwing jabs at our counterparts, but the facts are real. So please stop with the outlier and racist crap, it's becoming a total bore. All of you (exception Melvin) are capable of a more compelling arguments to make your points.

HAA! Too funny....

Actually, Mason- Dixon has a proven 3-4 point republican lean. Google it.

@Dustin

The 3-4 point Republican bias/lean for Mason-Dixon polls is measured from the polling average, as opposed to from the final election tally. Google it.

I rarely find things that are worth spending my time to google. All you usually end up with is some lib web site that only "proves" something to the weak minded.

The bottom line here is that Blunt is leading, but not by a wide margin.

Sorry. I forgot. Dems don't get the phrase "bottom line." It's a business term.

Is Blunt even going to win the primary? The Teaparty doesn't like him because he voted for TARP. Chuck Purgason could possibly beat him.

I guess 44 percent is better than that previous poll that had Obama at 34 percent. Missouri may be Republican leaning, but Obama's approval being that low may exist in utah, Idaho Nebraska, but Missouri can change in a NY minute. 2 years from now, everyone will love the Democrats and will be angry at the GOP.

The Carnahan's have guts as politicians. They may lose some elections, but they are resilient.

Nevada, Florida, Kentucky, Illinois. Change ahead to behind.

I think my favorite Carnahan moment was when a dead one beat John Ashcroft in a Senate election.

Blunt's latest experience with the Tea Party folk, who are now berating Palin, of all people for ignoring their candidate in the primary and supporting Blunt instead, is nothing less than hilarious. They have some serious hate going for Blunt, perhaps partly because he didn't speak at their MO gathering and definitely because of his support for a couple of bipartisan bills.

What does it take to please them? I guess you need to be Sharon Angle, who enraged even her conservative Republican colleagues in the Nev Senate for failing to vote any appropriations at all, even for routine and non-controversial items like cleaning state buildings.

Blunt's misdeeds are voting for TARP and for Cash for Clunkers. TARP, loathsome as it was, kept the country's banking system alive; Cash for Clunkers helps Ford regain its groove (it was the big winner); Ford's been burning rubber ever since.

Other than that Blunt's been right up their alley. He's openly "birther curious" (captured on video saying he'd like to see the papers) and supports repeal of every Obama initiative, all of which he's voted NAY on except Cash for Clunkers.

BTW...Blunt was also just announced as "The Most Crooked Member Of Congress This Year" by CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which, by the way also had both Kendrick Meek and Alvin Greene on its list. http://crooksandliars.com/nicole-belle/congratulations-rep-roy-blunt-youre-m)

TJ, I don't know anything about Blunt or this race, but is it possible that Tea Party is pissed off at Blunt for whatever caused him to win "the most crooked" award?

Tea Party is not just in favor of generic GOP backed conservative causes. They're about scaling down big corruption in Big Govt. Large segments of Tea Party have no love lost for most GOPers.

Bigmike:

Purgason? The only poll I have seen has him at 13% for the GOP primary. Blunt has $8 mil and Purgason has less than $100k. And try connecting to Purgason's campaign web site. I did. It's down. Here is the rest of the story.

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_06fe57df-5e5c-5149-9433-3b3deff689d6.html

I spent most of my life in the state. I don't know anyone who is going to change their views in a NY minute. Maybe my brother, but I don't think he is even registered to vote. Keeps him out of jury duty.

I doubt you will find many Missourians that care what CREW thinks. It is run by Melanie Sloan, who's political pedigree includes getting coffee for John Conyers and Joe Biden. And she is Joe Wilson's lawyer. You would have to be blind to not see what a partisan hack she is.

Jim:

@Bigmike - Purgason's website has been working everytime that I have tried. Perhaps, you should try again... If you really still cannot get to it, then here's a little of what it says:

1) Follow the US Constitution
2) Limit the size of the federal government
3) Stop the federal government spending spree
4) He supports free markets - no government bailouts like TARP
5) He supports fair markets - no special government tax breaks as payoffs to lobbyists or as attempts to socially engineer our society

What's not to love?
