After September 11th, Cunningham joined the Army Reserves, twice volunteered for active duty and was awarded the Bronze Star for his efforts to have contractors in Iraq prosecuted for their crimes." Is the registration difference really that wide for NC?

Don't most southern states have a lot more Dems and repubs? The south used to be nothing but Dems....they just vote republican...or I guess I should say conservative. Republicans were an endangered species in the south for a long long time from the Civil War to the late 20th century.

While there is a lot of truth in what Stillow says, I think there has been a lot of change in NC and VA. Those used to be safe for the GOP in Pres. elections.

Well the reason they are trending blue is the same reason my home state of NV is trending blue. Because people from blue states are moving into those states in mass to avoid punittive tax structures and poor job markets.

But the genius of these people is they bring their politics with them and end up voting for the same thing they are fleeing from...so go figure!
