This poll is quite encouraging for Obama since his favorability in the South is like 29 percent. NC is a younger state and has a growing number of out of state northerners moving there. Obama's approval in Florida is in the tank. The GOP is doing a very good job at scaring senior citizens into thinking that Medicare is going to be cut permanently. It is not surprising but scary just the same, just how many American seniors are buying these myths. Medicare Advantage had serious problems and wasted lots of money. What Obama needs to make clear is all the wasted money in the previous 8 years, which the GOP continues to deny. Again I do have to give the GOP the award for best marketing skills. They can turn lies into truths and make people believe them.

The Democrats are way too levelheaded and sane when they hire their campaign marketing staff. They hire logical people instead of people who are a slight bit wacko. The GOP on the other hand hires people who are great at distortions and finding out some juicy facts like Democrats with cosy relationships with financial services like they did with Corzine and Dodd. The Democrats need to get more poets, punk and metal rockers, rappers, and writers from the extreme left like David Corn and the Village Voice to be their advertising people. I want a job with them. Please Please hire me!

I have to wonder if FLAP really believes everything he/she writes, or if he/she just types whatever DNC memo is in front of him/her. Anyways, NC is a very complicated state politically because here we have Charlotte (god help us all), plus you have socially conservative registered democrats in the Eastern part, and fiscally conservative registered democrats in the Western part. It's a very strange place to say the least; however, the democrat brand is especially tarnished right now at the state level. It'll be interesting to see how all the bad press and trials of current and former demcorat "leaders" affects voters in 2010.
