What the hell is this poll supposed to prove? Like Nebraska ever was a liberal state to begin with?

If Nelson goes along with this liberal HCR disaster, it tells us he will get hurt badly and would probably lose his next election....

Field Marshal:

Exactly. It proves that while the far left is excoriating him for being too conservative, HIS constituents do not believe that is the case and support his actions.

My guess is he votes for the final bill out of committee and than votes against it on the final vote to be able to go home and say he was against. Lincoln and Landrieu will probably do the same.

Nelson will come around just like my prediction that Landrieu would as well.

FM - I agree they would vote agains tthe final bill. But if they vote to stop the filibuster, then we will not see any of them in the Senate after there next elections. Lincoln will lose, Nelson will lose, Mary will lose. Begich in Alaska will lose, The Montana senators...Webb out in VA. We will be seeign the last of a lot of democrats who claimed to be fiscal conservatives, but who vote like fiscal libs.

Oh and kiss Nelson in FL goodbye too....Seniors down in FL will be tossing him out.

Just wait and see Idaho. These solidly conservative states like ND, AR, Alaska, they are going to purge these fiscally liberal democrats who claimed to be conservatives. Blue senators are going to lose in thse red states.
Don't be surprised if you see governor Daniels run against Bayh in Indiana....he will beat Bayh if he runs.

Governor Daniels just won in 2008. Can you make some sense? Why the hell would he do that? He's not Sarah Palin

Nelson is toast. If he supportz HCR either by voting for the bill or against the filibuster he loses any prospect of Republican votes. If he votes against HCR or for the filibuster he loses any prospect of Democratic votes. He has already lost the pro-choice vote in Nebraska -- so in the event of a squeaker election he loses.

His only chance and he blew it was to campaign hard for HCR explaining the truth of how it would work and making minimal infringements on a woman's right to choose. True aid to pregnant teens IF coupled with childhood-long aid to the children they bear and tax breaks for adoption support one branch of choice and are fine -- anything which prevents a woman having all of her health care - including elective abortions - receive the same coverage as men's elective procedures receive is not acceptable. The creation of a child without a parent who wants that child is a sin.
