Wow, that's a lot of likely voters for a small state like New Hampshire.

From what I've read, Binnie would be the strongest Republican candidate because of Ayotte's office's handling of a ponzi scheme.

If the anti-Ayotte vote coalesces around a single candidate (most likely LaMongtagne), then this becomes a real race. As long as there are three Tea Party candidates in double digits, Ayotte wins.

I live in a suburb of Boston and I keep seeing constant ads on tv of Bill Binnie bashing Kelly Ayotte.

If the tea party candidate wins this race, which could easily happen, it will make my fall more interesting. I live only an hour and 20 minutes from NH, and I'll be campaigning there all the time. I think even Judd Gregg may endorse the Democrat if that happens.

Considering nobody thought Murkowski was going down either. In fact Murkowski was ahead of her opponent by more points than Ayotte was.

Thank you for saying tea party instead of teabaggers.

The Republican party do not want to debate, after Brewers disastrous performance yesterday in ARZ you can see why...The Democrats should force the GOP to have debates...The GOP don't want the truth to come out about where they stand on social security, and the HCB...The media have got to start reporting this, because the Republicans are going to try to get away without debating before the Midterms, and its up to the media to call the Republican party out on this...Its amazing when you have so many close races you wont see 1 debate before the Midterms!! Why is the Major Media letting the Republicans get away with this.

I agree Melvin. There is nothing wrong with us wondering why candidates like Angle and Brewer are not answering fair questions by the local media in their own states. It shows you just how stupid Angle and Brewer believe that the average voters of their states are. They are convinced they will win without having to answer questions. Angle, Bachmann and other Tea party types have accused liberals in congress in the senate and house of being anti-American or connected with world communism or terrorism. When they are interviewed, they can't name names. I saw Laura Ingraham on tv interviewed and she didn't name any names either.

I recall, during the Kerry election, some top Democrats accused Bush officials of totalitarian acts like illegal wiretapping, and the patriot act, but at least they would usually name names and explain why they went too far. The names included, Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft and others.

What is Anti-American these days anyhow? This terinology that Angle, Palin and Bachman use are about 50 years out of date. It sounds like the post WW2 witchhunts on American communists.

Yes the Republicans are dodging debates... That is why Rossi wants to debate Patty 6 times and she will only agree to 2.

Yeah, but he isn't as wacky as Angle or Brewer. After seeing Brewer act like she had just drank 4 martinis, I could understand why she was resistant to debate. I can't believe she was secretary of state. I feel sorry for Arizona.

Rossi is at least mainstream. I have seen him debate before against Gregoire and she was a lousy debater, but Patty Murray is way stronger of a candidate. He just may lose a real nailbiter. Scott in Florida doesn't want to debate, and neither does Angle, and I bet Buck in COL will be pretty stubborn too. I'll also look forward to the Mcadams/Miller debate in Alaska.

Have you ever posted a single goddamn comment that was actually related to the poll it was posted under?

I could see Hodes beating any of these candidates in the general. He could get Bill Clinton to campaign for him and that could put him over the top. Bill Clinton is absolutely beloved in New Hampshire.

Patty is a mediocre public speaker and debater. However, that in some way helps as she comes across as down to Earth. I do believe Rossi will win this race, but I also agree it will be a real nail biter; more than the 2000 race, when Cantwell won by 3,000 votes. I think it will all depend on turn out. Currently, I say Rossi has the edge as the Republican candidates combined during the Primary garnered roughly 50% to the Democrats 48%. In WA, Primary numbers generally hold true for the election. If that is the case-as it is certainly appearing with enthusiastic Republicans-Dino Rossi will clinch a victory; barely, but an uncontested victory nonetheless.
