What is the party ID? These partisan pollsters need to validate with thorough cross tabs.

This is nuts! These polls cannot agree on anything other than that they don't agree. Christie up 5 in one, Corzine up 5 in another? These pollsters are going to have a lot of gloating or explaining to do come Wednesday morning.

Brad Forsythe:

Wow! There's something for everybody in today's polling. Maybe by the end of the day, somebody will come out with a poll showing Daggett ahead. lol

Stillow:

Ya no matter what happens many pollsters will have a lot of explaining to do.

LOL...this poll is obviously partisan trash.

Party ID is 38/29/32 Dem/Rep/Ind (Dem +9). It was Dem +16 for the 2008 election (44/28/28):

Democrats (38%)
Corzine 78
Christie 6
Daggett 11

Republicans (29%)
Corzine 7
Christie 73
Daggett 16

Independents (32%)
Corzine 30
Christie 40
Daggett 17

Go Corzine!!! The GOP wants to be 4-0 tomorrow and they will clearly win NY 23rd and VA governors races, but they also want to win in NJ and the Christian right wants another celebration by voting against gay marriages in Maine.

I predict this race will be an extremely close one in NJ. It may not be decided for a few weeks like Minnesota's senate recount.

Guys,

Actually this poll also chose movement towards Christie. Last week's Dem Corp was Corzine+5.

Clearly the conservatives/GOP have the enthusiasm advantage yet Carville would have us believe that Christie is only winning the Indy vote by 10, and Corzine is doing better with partisan Dems and Christie is doing with partisan republicans.

HAH! Not in a million years.

Also remember that the peope that run this poll have contributed to the Corzine campaign which IMHO invalidates the poll right there.

Its not just conservatives against gay mairage. Many liberals oppose it as well...most notedly, Barack Obama.

Well I'll be dammned! I just got a call for a robo poll right here in my home office. I hung up. I guess that must of been what Chuck Todd was tlaking about?LOL!

Only a hack like Polaris thinks every poll shows movement to the GOP.

Do we think Obama is truly against gay marriage or is against it solely for political reasons. I think it's for political reasons. In any event, gay marriage will become legal in nearly every state within the next 20 years. Young people are overwhelmingly for it and the people most ardently opposed are dying more and more everyday.

Yes gay people should have their rights observed now, if not years ago, but it's only a matter of time before this occurs. So say I. So says George Will.

Gay Marriage. Welcome to the worlds biggest non-issue! It is truly pathetic that we have record deficits, 2 wars, 40+ million people without health insurance, etc. and we actually lose sleep over gay marriage? What a country!

Does not surprise me Stillow. On social issues I am very much a libertarian. I am a gun owner, but support reasonable gun control.

How do I define reasonable? I have no problem with background checks or waiting periods (within reason), with that said people should be allowed to own firearms for recreational use and home protection.

BTW- Does anoyne know if Ras will do a final poll on this race?

Polaris:

Plat,

Every poll but Monmouth has shown movement towards Christie.

Quinn -5 Christie to +2 Christie: +7 movement
D-Corp: -5 Christie to -4 Christie: +1 movement
SUSA: +0 Christie to +3 Christie

Need I go on?

I've seen posts that discuss voters who have already voted and that Corzine is up by 12%. Where are people hearing this? Is there a link or a poll? Thanks.

And by the way, I drive through some pretty Republican areas of NJ to and from work and I've seen more Daggett and Corzine signs than normal. This one will be close.

Publius,

You can find it in one of the crosstabs of the latest SUSA poll. Given the Dem party emphasis on early voting (for a while now), I'd be stunned if Corzine wasn't ahead in the early vote.
