Field Marshal:

The Reps could run a monkey and Reid would lose. Good riddance.

Reid has tons of cash and endorsements from key republicans here in NV....even Wayne Newton jumped ship to support Harry, despite all of that, he is going to lose by a pretty large margin.

That will be two leaders in a row the GOP knocked off.

Bye bye Harry.

Field Marshal:

What republicans are supporting Harry and for what reason? Temporary insanity?

wayne Newton. The mayor of Reno is another...and there are several GOP legislators who you probably would not recognize.

It doesn't matter, he will lose. The polls don't even do it justice on how unpopular Reid is here. A buddy of mine is a lawyer at Rory Reids law firm and even he is tired of Harry. Harry is going to lose. rory is running for governor and he will lose too. finally, maybe this state can get rid of the entire Reid family.

He might decide to retire and "spend more time with family" rather than face re-election.

The best advice for Tarkanian or Louden against Harry Reid would be to invite Sarah Palin to speak to woman for the day and talk about Joe Sixpacks and seeing Russia from her house, and all the men can go on a day long hunting trip where Dick Cheney can give them tips about marksmanshop. They can also invite Mike Huckabee a little closer to the election and discuss how to be tougher on crime and to pass tougher parole laws. If the GOP can do this, than Reid won't have a chance.

Palin never said she can see russia from her house, that was tina fay....see what happens when you get your news from comedy shows?

@Stillow
You said Farleftandproud was wrong but failed to quote what she actually said. She did say she can see Russia from an Island in Alaska I think. That's why sometimes I get mad when people are disingenous.

She said you can actually see Russia from land in alaska....nothing wrong with that statement. Its by no means as lame as some of the other famous politicans one liners.

It depends on what your definition of the wrod is, is - Bill Clinton

I actually did vote for the 87 billion, before i voted against it - John Kerry

I didn't inhale - Bill Clinton

We've campaigned now in 58 states - Obama

You ge thte point.............

Nevada will go for Reid in the end. This polling company and newspaper are the same ones that said that Obama would win Nevada by 1-2%...he won by 12%. People in Nevada would be stupid to get rid of such a powerful senator especially since Ensign is doing nothing for us.

Nevada is a state where it is really hard to figure out what the voters really want. It allows brothels in certain places and casinos being a big part of their business. The economy is keeping more tourists away from visiting Reno and Las Vegas and hotels are giving fabulous deals. I am going to see it for myself this March. It isn't a typical liberal state like California, nor is it a conservative state like Arizona; I want to learn more about it, but it doesn't strike me as a state where there is a lot of interest in politics. To look at Harry Reid and look at John Ensign without knowing anything about who they are and what party they represent, Ensign seems more like he would be the Democrat and Reid the Republican. It might be subconcious since Reid looks a lot like James Dobson of Focus on the Family and Ensign looks a little like Streisand's husband James Brolin.

Mason Dixon was way off in 2008. They had Mccain with a 1 point lead over Obama when Gallup had him by 8 or 9. Obama won by 7 percent of the vote.

____________________

Farleftandproud:

Gallup had Obama up by 8 a couple of days before the election. Mason/Dixon had Mccain up.

I also think that Nevada has had a huge public outrage because of it's sudden number of forclosures, and was booming just a few years ago and is in a big time recession now. For states that were doing well before 2008 it is a shock to be hit so hard. Other areas like PA, Ohio and Upstate NY are used to recession and factories closing and outsourcing. It is less noticeable in the rust belt, compared to states like Florida and Nevada who are hurting from lack of tourism.

Stillow:

NV isn't really liberal or conservative. There is a real strong libertarian vein here....a live and let live mentality. We have had a major influx of democrats who were fleeing CA the past few years which has slightly changed our poltiical landscape here, espeically in the southern part of the state. But NV is a true purple state. Reid is extremely unpopular here.

In fact Enseign was far more popular and liked before his sex scandal. Both Reid and Enseign will lose there next elections. reaid cannot win. These national polls do not do justice to how unliked Harry is here.

It has seemed a bit strange that when you think of the modern GOP platform I think about promoting moral issues including abstinence, right to life, sanctity of marriage and other traditional values. I have wondered why someone as conservative as Ensign would get elected in a state that is dependent on casinos and has some legalized brothels? Can anyone explain that one?
