Field Marshal:

Interesting that Strickland has a net positive approval but is trailing his opponent by 6%.

This is the governor's race, not the senate race.

If the democrats cannot do anything with 60 and now 59 majorities, then all of them should be taken down and allow the ring wing thugs to destroy the country once again.

U of Cincinnati is the gold standard of Ohio polls, but so few undecided with a republican candidate no one has heard of is a bit fishy.

It's good to see Strickland with a positive approval rating. We'll see what happens when the campaign gets going and Kasich gets defined. The Strickland camp should start doing that starting NOW! I don't think people in Ohio know that Kasich is a teabagger. They need to find out and find out soon!

"...a republican candidate no one has heard of..."

Kasich spent 18 years in the house representing a district in Ohio. After the 94 elections he was chairman of the house budget committee. He was extremely popular with conservatives everywhere. Bob Dole even gave him serious consideration as a running mate. He should win this one without breaking a sweat.

Kasich is well known in OH as a 9-term congressmen and also OH state senator.

And i hope the Dems use the "teabagger" label on him. It will only cement his victory and further augment the notion that the Dems have no sustainable platform other than "Blame BUSH" and "teabagger".

Kasich is an unknown, Bigmike... He hasn't been in congress for almost a decade and his only public appearances have been on the O'Reilley factor. People like me remember him, but I'm a political junkie. He has never run for statewide office and hasn't run for anything, period, in over a decade.

I wish they posted his favorability rating in this poll to see how many people knew who he was. Last Rasmussen poll had about 75% of the state not knowing who Kasich was...

There may indeed be many people who don't remember him. But all of the big donors will. Especially a former budget committee chairman. Having the cash to get your story out to the voters makes a big difference.

Kasich is well known in Ohio. To deny that fact is to live in fairly tale land.

Common Sense?:

Now come on guys. I am a college student in Ohio. Kasich is a household name. Almost every student on campus knows who he is, including the students who are not politically involved. He spent almost twenty five years in Ohio politics and has remained a key player in the state even when hee was not an elected official. Unless Strickland gives one hell of a campaign speech tonight he is gone.

They liked Strickland back when Bush was so unpopular, but now that America under Obama is having a harder time than most people predicted to create jobs, it is typical of Ohio and PA to be the first states to play the blame game. You just go from one extreme to another. Taft was perhaps one of the worst governors ever with his corruption, but did stay some executions unlike Bush, so I give him credit for that. Ohio will likely defeat Strickland and within months, the Unemployment rate will get worse. When will I ever hear the fears of outsourcing to foreign countries like I used to? I seriously don't think there is any hope for our country, and China will eat us alive down the road.
