These Democratic candidates can keep fighting down to the wire, and continue to give the voters a chance they can win, even if they ultamately don't. I think this election is pretty much over, but Strickland still has a shot. I personally like Portman better than Strickland, and I like Strickland better as a leader than Fisher.
I think that this could be like 2004. Bush was ahead in Wisconsin by 6 throughout most of the race, and Kerry pulled it out; same with NH. In sept of 04, I remember it looked like Kerry would lose in a landslide. I remember Oregon and Maine had Bush ahead for awhile.

The history of the battle for the Senate this cycle has been amazing. I am sure I am leaving some stuff out, but..
Dorgan's retirement. Polling showing Dodd losing. Reid losing. Bayh retiring. Beou Biden bowing out. Specter business. Crist. Castle losing.
And of course lesser impact things like Bennet and Murkawski losing primaries.
Some seats that were easy pick-ups became impossible, before they became possible again. Others that were completely out of reach, are within.
Just lots of crazy twists and turns.
