I just wanted to post this brief update in the interest of full disclosure: After, and partly because of, the work I did for this post, I am now part of a group called "Working Women for Virginia" that is raising money to educate voters about Republican candidate Bob McDonnell's extreme views. McDonnell, I can't understand. He is way way way more conservative than a handful of Virginia Republicans who could have ran. I think this weekend should be a dress rehearsal for the 2010 mid terms. There has to be a huge mobilization of all the people who came out for Barack Obama to show up and if Deeds doesn't win, at least show the GOP that progressives and loyal Democrats are alive and well. If the think we are slacking off and not taking each campaign seriously than the right wing revolution of 1994 will happpen all over again.
