Wow, it looks like Sestak may pull this off.

I had my doubts about the Muhlenberg poll since I think it was a rolling cross section with a pretty small sample size, and as such could have been swayed by a few particularly pro-Sestak days. However, seeing it backed up here makes his surge seem more legitimate.

It will be nice to see Spector go. His attempting to change parties when it politically suits him was underhanded to say the least. Even if Sestak beats Toomey which i think is less than 50/50, it would be worth it to dump Specter.

Not surprising, Specter was very rude to the people who attended his town hall meeting. He really needs to chitty check his mouth.

We can agree on this one (excpet for the odds of Sestak beating Toomey). It's long past time for Specter to go.

People do not like a turncoat. Specter is the poster boy for modern day corrupt politics. Where its more about position and power than representation.

Stillow, I think that's ridiculous to refer to Arlen Specter as a 'turncoat'. Why, because he switched parties? His political beliefs have always been more to the left, so I think the Democratic Party fits him well. I think we're lucky to have him. I also think it's disingenuous to suggest that he's corrupt. Based on what?

Stillow:

He changed parties for only one reason...and he is actually on video saying it. The only way he could get re-elected was to change parties. he thought he could dupe the Dems into supporting him, but it appears the Dems might actually do the smart thing here.

He did not have some enlightment hit him to change parties, he did so he had a better shot of retaining his power....nothing more.

So you think Sestak is altruistic in his bid to become a senator? Why did he use his daughter and her cancer in his political ad? I think that was really self-serving, not to mention tasteless, and I'm not the only one that thinks that.

OF,

I think the Dems in this race are between a rock and a hard place. In the end, i think both candidates will find it hard to get elected. Sestak is attempting to fire up his far-left base and Toomey will surely hit him as a far-left ideologue hurting him with indies.

If its Spector, the far-left may stay home as Toomey can paint him as middle of the road and outside of their beliefs.

FM in the end you might be right. However, I personally feel better having Specter as the candidate because I know there are moderates out there that won't vote for Toomey. If Democrats would show up and vote in the general, there is always a chance we could pull it off. I don't think Sestak would have that kind of draw with those that are turned off by how conservative Toomey is. I suspect it will be the moderates that stay home if Sestak wins the primary.

Been calling Sestak all year. The guy's got some nice credentials for the long haul for taking out a dinosaur like Specter.

Toomey is more to the right than Sestak is to the left.
