Based on those polls if PA is not out of reach for McSame TX is totally winnable for Obama

As are Mississippi and South Carolina.

Glad to see the Palin/What's-his-face campaign is flushing all its money down the toilet. Not just by splurging on clothes and make-up, but by campaigning in solidly blue states like PA, IA, MN and WI.

Basically, one or more of the following things has to be true:
1) The Palin/What's-his-face campaign has decided that pulling out of these states would be such a blow to their image that they're better off pretending they're in play.
2) The Palin/What's-his-face campaign has really sucky internal pollsters.
3) The Palin/What's-his-face campaign is in complete denial about what's going on in these states.
4) The Palin/What's-his-face campaign is banking on making a huge comeback nationally which will give them a good 7-point boost across the country, putting these states back in play.
5) The Palin/What's-his-face campaign has already essentially conceded defeat and they're just going through the moves so as to not totally screw up all the down-ticket races.

Actually, a 7-point boost wouldn't be enough, would it? It would require something more like a 10-point boost to put those states back in play.

I guess I got spoiled a little lately, but... "sample size too small"... :o)

@Atomique

I'd guess a combination of #1 and #4. Basically, they have to know that unless they have a huge national comeback, they can't win the election. So, they might as well campaign as if such a comeback will occur.

@PJ_FFM

This is a five-day tracking poll. By my count they have something like five consecutive nonoverlapping samples with Obama ahead by at least ten points.

McCain has a great work ahead; Obama has never left the 50% watermark. Let's see kids :-)

Makes me proud to live in PA! More and more Obama signs going up here in this traditionally Republican area of Montgomery County. I notice that even staunch Republicans have not even bothered to put up McShame signs. Go Obama!
