POLL: American Research Group Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina Primaries


Three new American Research Group statewide surveys of 600 Democratic and 600 Republican likely caucus/primary voters each in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina (conducted 10/26 through 10/29) find:

    22% Obama
    15% Edwards
    7% Richardson
    5% Biden
    ---
    27% Romney
    19% Huckabee
    16% Giuliani
    14% McCain
    8% Thompson
  • New Hampshire
    40% Clinton
    22% Obama
    10% Edwards
    5% Richardson
    ---
    30% Romney
    23% Giuliani
    17% McCain
    7% Huckabee
    5% Thompson
  • South Carolina
    41% Clinton
    19% Obama
    18% Edwards
    6% Biden
    ---
    29% Romney
    23% Giuliani
    13% McCain
    10% Thompson
    5% Huckabee

All other candidates receive less than five percent each.

Edwards has to be in a panic about those Iowa numbers, there are more than enough polls out now to conclusively indicate he is running third now, and not that close of a third. Fifteen percent in ARG Iowa ought to give him an ulcer. He needs to change strategy.

If Clinton takes Iowa and New Hampshire, it is over. If Romney wins both, arguably contest is between Romney and Giuliani, and as a long shot Huckabee if he does as well as he is currently showing in Iowa.
