Eric Dienstfrey | January 4, 2008
A new American Research Group statewide survey of likely primary voters in New Hampshire (conducted 1/1 through 1/3) finds:
- Among 600 likely Democratic primary voters, Sen. Hillary Clinton runs at 35%, Sen. Barack Obama at 31% in a statewide primary; former Sen. John Edwards trails at 15%, Gov. Bill Richardson at 5%.
- Among 600 likely Republican primary voters, Sen. John McCain leads former Gov. Mitt Romney (35% to 25%) in a statewide primary; former Gov. Mike Huckabee trails at 12%, Rep. Ron Paul at 9%, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani at 8%.
- All other candidates receive less than five percent each. The margin of sampling error is 4% for each subgroup.

This is pre-Iowa results as 1/3 polling would be before most people would have heard. If Romney is minus 10 in NH now...i wonder what it will look like in the next few days.

Not to mention that ARG consistently overestimates Clinton support...

I wouldn't put anything into this poll. It was pre-caucus. I think after a Hilary 3rd and a Huckabee 1st in Iowa, Your going to see a big jump for Huckabee taking many of Romney's voters, and Obama should swap percentage points with Clinton.

Funny, how people think Obama is inevitable. He hasn't even ran on a state that is not Black and white and the majority of us at 70% of Latino's are for Hillary. We don't trust barack Hussien Obama. The Republicans are now sprinting to win the nomination to be the next President. Most of the majority of latino voters will stand with our Cuban-American brothers and sisters and not vote for castro, communist, loving Obama!!!

Why are you still using ARG poll results in your averages? It seems that this poll overestimates Clinton consistently and I'm starting to believe they have an agenda.

The ARG poll consistently over-estimated Clinton in Iowa, but were pretty accurate regarding Huckabee's win..wonder why?

If McCain gets the nomination he will win based on the polls as of now.

Even though this is a critical year for the future of our country, and regardless of who wins the nomination, I am excited to see how many americans are getting involved in the process.
