POLL: Battlegound Poll 2008

A new Tarrance Group (R)/Lake Research (D) Battleground Poll (results, graphics, Celinda Lake (D) analysis, Brian Tringali (R) analysis) of 1,000 likely voters (conducted 7/15 through 7/18) finds:
- 35% approve of the job George Bush is doing as president; 61% disapprove.
- The Democratic candidate leads the Republican candidate (44% to 37%) on a generic ballot for U.S. Congress.
- General eletion match-ups:
Clinton 44%, Giuliani 50%
Clinton 47%, Thompson 45%
Obama 52%, Giuliani 43%
Obama 56%, Thompson 36%

Who to believe? The latest Fox poll was conducted roughly at the same time as this Battleground poll, yet the results are very different. Fox has Clinton ahead of Giuliani by 5%. but Battleground has Rudy up by 6%.

Never believe a Fox poll...these results sound about right to me.
