Cooper & Secrest (D-Jim Slattery)
McCain 45, Obama 41
Sen: Roberts (R-i) 48, Slattery (D) 36
Oof. Another state McCain will have to defend.

This is a Democratic pollster who is the first and only pollster to show Obama so close to McCain.

CSA apparently did well enough for Governor Sibelius to keep them right from her election as insurance commissioner to her re-election as Governor.
If there's one thing people need to take away from this site, it is MOE.
FYI, Obama polled 39/40/41% in SUSA/Research 2000/CSA. McCain has varied 49/51/45 - which is within the MOE.
Both Obama-supporters and Obama-haters need to chill out.

While it is an internal poll, it doesn't look like a complete outlier. I wouldn't rank it as a first tier race, or even a second tier race. That said, it is a state worth sinking some resources in, even if it is just to force McCain to do the same. At the very least, it does build up the Democratic base for next time while Nancy Boyda could use the help keeping KS-2 this year.

CSS-This would seem to fall in line with the Survey USA polling trend, as well. The last two SUSA surveys showed McCain's lead dropping from 17% to 10% vs. Obama. So an additional drop to 4% wouldn't be at all unexpected after Obama has essentially won the nomination.
