Not related to presidential race...but rather Alaska Senate... Incumbent Ted Stevens (GOP) has just been indicted on public corruption charges. Now the GOP primary is wide open.

Also remember that Alaska's U.S. Rep. Don Young (GOP) is also under investigation.

All this talk of Obama enthusiasm. The thought of Obama taking office will translate into record turnout for the republicans. You don't have to love McCain to know that this year is the most important year to get out and vote. If you are a Republican and you stay home this year you can blame yourself for higher gas prices, higher taxes, destabilization in the middle east, Iran producing nuclear weapons, San Francisco values sweeping the nation, etc., etc. Check the polls, McBush is not working. Educate yourself to McCain's positions and stop arguing this ridiculous argument that McCain is another Bush. Check the generic ballots...Obama is running 12 point below the democrat brand and McCain is running 11 points ahead of the republican brand. Your bull is not working. The people have eyes and brains. Check history...Obama's twin Carter was 30 points ahead at this time. Landslide REPUBLICAN win this year...please don't riot.

Okay, so Rass. has Obama +1, Gallup has Obama +6 (can we believe Gallup anymore?).

And Research 2000 has Obama +12, for LV. (51 to 39).

So it averages out to Obama +6.3, that is if you trust the Gallup number.

I just don't see this presidential race is anything other than ... stable. Overall, Obama clings to a modest lead that varies from 3 to 8 points.

Obama's lead you brag about is fake. History shows that for some reason, liberal support hits a ceiling and in the end the undecideds go GOP. Only Bill Clinton won two elections in the last ten elections...our lifetime. Clinton would be ahead 20 points. Your Radical is gonna loose...sorry. Tell Chris Matthews to cherish those chills, because in the end the media lost this election for the democrats.

Looks like delusion is all the repubs have left. How much more pathetic can they be? Marctx just listed the same ole lies mccant is using. How sad is that? So unoriginal and uninspiring.....yup, that's mccant allright.

After 8 years of repubs, there are ignorant clowns out there trying to blame democrats for the nation's problem. Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand for the GOP.

ROTFLMAO @ marctx.

You are commenting on the wrong site. Please go post on Fox or one of those hate-filled, mindless noise-machine websites. People post here to discuss polls, and in a civil, intelligent manner.

All you've done is make yourself look like a child. Please go find a site filled with people like yourself (there are plenty out there), where they try to be persuade each other by yelling angry nonsense. Thank you.

"one of those hate-filled, mindless noise-machine websites. "

is that where onelight, the obama fan, was banned to?

The polls over-all are showing a slight tighening of the race.
There seems to have been a down side to Obama's Brittiany Spears world tour.

Personally, National polls mean little, but Obama made some mistake (the wounded troop visit nixed, perhaps) that has had cost him.

it should be interesting to see the polls over the next week

Today's tracking polls results for July 27-29

Rasmussen Obama 48-McCain 46 ( with leaners) and 45-43 (without)

Gallup 46-42 registered voters.

Looks like Obama lost his "global groove" (aka bump from overseas trip).

marctx-

Your state has produced the single worst president in the history of this country. HE and the repubs are responsible for the mess we are in. Now, to continue to vote for them is nothing short of insanity.

To address your repeated lies about Obama's war record -

1) Most people KNEW Saddam had no WMDs. Maybe people in Texas who watch fox news all day didn't know because they are too stupid to read on the internet what the REST of the world was saying. But the rest of the world are just "foreigners", right? What do THEY know. Only Bush knows anything, right? The effing retard who barely knows English is to be trusted with everything, right? Pathetic.

2) Your sorry argument about a terrorist endorsement is a joke. Who has created more anti-American sentiment around the world than Bush? Who has created more terrorists around the world than Bush? You might think killing innocent Iraqis is "cool" now. Wait until that murdered Iraqi's son grows up. Who do you think he will blame? How easily will he be recruited into al-qaeda?

3) Your lack of education about gas prices is staggering. Do you even realize WHY gas prices are high?? Have you EVER taken an economics course? Do you even know what that word means? Prices are dictated by demand and supply. The speculation that goes on in the oil market is dictated by the safety of oil reserves. If safety is thought to be in jeopardy, prices spike due to speculation. Who is responsible for putting oil supply in jeopardy? Yup, your chimp leader, that's who. You think it is an effing coincidence that oil prices went up after the Iraq war? And while he was busy doing that, dubya decided to do nothing to raise fuel efficiency standards, or create alternative fuel supplies. Brilliant!!

4) You know why else "GAS IS EXPENSIVE"? The dollar is in free-fall. Why? Maybe you should ask "why" more often, instead of repeating, "me american, grunt, grunt, me smash everything". The reason the dollar is in free-fall is due to *again* the chimp you elected not once but twice to run the country. When we import ridiculous amounts from China and export our jobs, well things get effed up. Compound that with anti-american sentiment around the world due to the chimp pulling out of international environmental treaties and attacking random countries, and well, you have a problem. The freaking Canadian dollar is worth more than ours now. Keep electing repubs, and pretty soon the peso will be too! You will be sneaking across the border to Mexico, wondering, "what the hell happened to our economy?"

Way to go Dubya! And thanks, marctx, for representing the "south" so well. I'm sure you have done so much to repel those stereotypes of ignorant southerners who keep voting against their own interests. Way to go!

it's a shame that obama and his fan's only game plan is an attempt to broad brush McCain as if he another term of Bush.
