I trust gallup over rass - any day.

rass shows their bias in their subtle push-polling techniques. a-holes.

Who ever said this trip was supposed to make him "more fit" to be president? faux-news? Gimme a break. This is a subtle dig at Obama disguised as a "legitimate" question. And people think rass is unbiased.

Rasmussen National at Obama +2 is less than RCP (Obama +4.6) but more than 538 (Obama +1.2). The major polls do appear to have Obama in the lead, albeit small.

The fact a large number of people think it DOES make him more fit to be president is astounding.

More on the "the trip makes him MORE fit to be president...."

What an idiotic question. If you're an Obama supporter like myself, you've already been convinced that he's fit to be president, and this trip does nothing to change that. It's an experiment without a control. Absurd...

... and I can't wait to hear the neanderthals on the MSN saying how despite a good trip, it's had no positive effect.

Tom:

It is interesting to see how stable the tracking poll has been. McCain has been between 40% and 42% every day except three (two at 43%, one at 39%) in the Rass poll since the end of the Democratic primary race, while Obama has been below 43% only one day over the same time frame. Gallup has been similarly stable since the 4th of July with Obama spending only two days outside of a 45%-47% range (both times at 48%), while McCain has been in a 42%-44% range every day over tie same time frame except one (at 41%).

Both polls are starting to notice that Obama is expierencing a slight uptick over the last week as news of his trip abroad is starting to get factored into the polls. We should have a better clue if there is a bounce from his overseas trip next week. At worst, he has stopped any erosion in his numbers.
