This has to be one of the ODDEST polls I have seen in some time.

Let's see, Clinton leads Obama. Okay. But Obama trounces McCain AND McCain trounces Clinton. HUH?

How does that make sense?

WTF? HUH? Is this from ARG?

Bob,

It makes perfect sense. Clinton and Obama are basically tied amongst democrats. However, against McCain, indies line up to vote for Obama.. but they line up to vote against Clinton.

Some of it could also be that Obama supporters being more internet/poll saavy are more likely to answer strategically.

Guys and Gals,

You should not put a tremendous amount of stock in these early election polls. There are indications from the past 5-10 elections that "leading" post-primary season does not translate into a win in November. For sure, it's better to be leading in February than be behind, but the general election is a long and very cruel vetting process (ask Al Gore about his "sighs" and "neutral colors"--thanks Maureen Dowd).

If memory serves, Gore had a lead on Bush by perhaps 8-10% going into the three debates.

That didn't hold.

Elections are an organic process that turn on things we cannot ever predict. Some academics have noted that the DUI story the weekend before the election probably made the election closer than it would have been by 1-3%. We saw that matters.

Just my two cents. Go back to your horse races :-)

Sorry Obamanites - your guy put on his best smile but Americans are smarter than that. Thats why he's behind in Texas, Ohio, RI, Vermont & Pennsylvania. He's done it to himeself with comments about invading Pakistan but in almost the same breath he says he'll pull the troops out of Iraq in 60 days. Hillary's right, its time to get real.

PS - theres alot more to Texas than Houston.

John
