POLL: Greg Smith & Associates Idaho Primary, Craig's Decision

A new Greg Smith & Associates statewide survey (Craig release; Primary release) of 300 adults in Idaho (conducted 10/8 through 10/9) finds 51% opposing Sen. Larry Craig's decision to stay in the U.S. Senate while 21% favor it.

Rich B.:

Surprisingly, the 21% who wanted him to stay weren't all Democrats with ulterior motives.

Paul:

Craig repeatedly said he would resign. Then he explicitly said he would resign if his plea to withdraw the guilty plea was rejected. The plea was rejected and he again changed his mind. He had 2 months to consider the plea between June and August. He clearly pleaded guilty because he hoped that the incident would not become public if it did not have to go court. Well he guessed wrong and now he is in a mess way over his ability to escape. Seeking sex in a bathroom is not exactly the type of behavior deemed appropriate for a Senator. How anyone, not to mention the 21% in Idaho, could possibly still support Craig is beyond me. He should have resigned immediately after the incident. Period!
