POLL: InsiderAdvantage Dem SC Primary

A new InsiderAdvantage statewide survey of 480 likely Democratic primary voters in South Carolina (conducted 12/8 through 12/9) finds Sen. Barack Obama leading Sen. Hillary Clinton (28% to 22%) in a statewide primary; former Sen. John Edwards trails at 14%, Sen. Joe Biden at 10%. All other candidates receive less than five percent each.

Anna:

I wonder if you have considered how very small the sample of black voters is in these polls. For a state where half of the Democratic primary voters are African American, it seems odd to me they wouldn't poll more of them when polling Democrats.

I don't know why, but Insider Advantage had a terrible record on the Kentucky governor's race. While all other polls were correctly showing Beshears with a very comfortable lead, the IA polls showed the race to be neck-and-neck. Also, IA polls have a much larger share of undecided voters than other polls.

the Insider Advantage polls in Kentucky governor's race did peg Fletcher's support at under 40%. Not sure why Beshear didn't poll higher in those polls. Perhaps, IA didn't force soft undecideds who all were Beshear voters in the end.
