Knute:

Again, that little upward blip for HRC from last Saturday has faded away and disappeared.

This (the national) is the poll that really counts going forward. The pledged delegate race is over.

The only question is how long HRC can stay on life-support, and how much damage she can do in the meantime.

BHO will almost certainly be the Democratic candidate - but we can really only measure his performance against JMC when the media, etc., start losing interest in HRC.

However, the Clintons are likely to continue to create attention-getting stunts and histrionics - at least until they inevitably overreach and thoroughly discredit themselves. Still, that may be sooner rather than later; witness Bill's latest rant.

What a shame for their legacy.

Why are Obama people so bitter about Hillary still running? You won the race, you're enjoying humilating Bill and Hillary, and it keeps the "changed brigades" motivated.

The longer Obama has to run head to head against McCain, the more time there is for the charm to disappear and for the Republicans to do their thing.

The democrats were capable of losing to an unpopular Bush with war veteran Kerry even over security and commander-in-chief issue. Running over Obama would be like taking a candy from a child.

You are all underestimating McCain's likeability even among democrats. He supports the wrong ideas, but he's an honorable person.

Enough with the partisan bickering (on both sides).

There are plenty of sites that encourage such arguments. Is it too much to ask that we just talk about polls and statistics on this site? It's easy enough to favor one candidate over the other simply by framing your comments. There is no need for words that will almost certainly inflame responses from the opposing side.
