POLL: Newsweek Muslims

Additional results from a recent Newsweek national survey (story, results) of 1,001 adults (conducted 7/12) finds:

  • 45% would vote for a "qualified Muslim for political office;" another 45% would not.
  • 64% would not object to their son or daughter dating a Muslin; 28% would.
  • 38% think "U.S. Muslims are unfairly singled out for scrutiny by law enforcement officials;" 52% do not think so.

David:

Just to get this straight--This isn't a poll of Newsweek Muslims, or even Muslims generally--right? If it is, some of these results are *weird*.

So only half of respondents believe in no religious test, the other half apparantely doesn't believe in the Constitution.

I look it as a mixture result. I believe we cannot blame on one religion generously for the mistake done by group of people from the religion.Better if we try to approach the things based on the individuals.

David: It's a poll about Muslims, not a poll of Muslims. See the article about it.
