POLL: Newsweek National Survey

A new Newsweek national survey (story, results) of 1,001 adults (conducted 7/12) finds:

  • 29% approve of the job George Bush is doing as president; 64% disapprove.
  • 22% think Bush's "'surge' plan increasing U.S. troops in Iraq" has been a success; 64% say failure.
  • 41% are willing to give Bush "nine more months before any cutbacks in U.S. troop levels are made;" 54% are not willing.

Comments
Paul:

How 22% of those polled believe the surge has been successful are not looking at the same data I am ... bombing incidents have increased and deaths have increased as a result. The worst three months the US has experienced in Iraq are those associated with the surge.

Those 22% would probably still believe as they do if one of those "bombing incidents" was to be off target by several thousand miles, and blow up their own backyard barbeque pit. They are the rats that will go down with the presently s(t)inking ship, and will undoubtedly whine for many years into the future about how Walter Jones and Ron Paul are traitors who "lost eye-rak."
