POLL: Pew National Survey

Via tpmcafe, A new Pew Research Center national survey (release, results) of 1,501 adults (conducted 9/12 through 9/16) finds:

  • 31% approve of the way George Bush is handling his job as president; 59% disapprove.
  • 57% approve of the recommendations made by General Petraeus "about troop withdrawals that President Bush has endorsed;" 28% disapprove.
  • 16% say Petraeus's statements made them "more optimistic," 12% say "less optimistic," and 67% their view has not changed.
