POLL: Public Opinion Strategies (R) National Survey

A new Moriah Group/Public Opinion Strategies (R) national survey (release, results, Charles Franklin's analysis) of 800 registered voters (conducted 2/5 through 2/7) finds:

  • 38% of Americans approve of the job Bush is doing as president; 60% disapprove.
  • 57% support "finishing the job in Iraq, that is, keeping the troops there until the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security for its people."
  • 60% say "Iraq will never become a stable democracy."

If anyone wonders about the value of polls, may I remind the Republican viewers that in the past year, various national polls show strong support for Condi Rice to run for president?
Marist shows 45% of the people polled want Condi to run, which is a HUGE statement.

The AP-AOL poll shows that Condi, McCain, and Rudy each win 1 vote out of every 10, giving these 3 leaders a virtual tie as the next leader of the Republican party for 2008.

At a New Hampshire picnic, it was quite interesting to see that Condi got 26% in the straw poll, and McCain tied with her at 26%.
Rudy came in at 14%.
