POLL: Quinnipiac NY Survey

A new Quinnipiac University statewide survey (Issues results, 2008 results) of 1,548 registered voters in New York State (conducted 3/28 through 4/2) finds:

  • Among Democrats, Sen. Hillary Clinton (at 44%) leads Sen. Barack Obama (14%), former V.P. Al Gore (14%), and former Sen. John Edwards (9%) in a statewide primary.
  • Among Republicans, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani leads Sen. John McCain (52% to 13%) in a statewide primary.
  • In general election match-ups, Giuliani trails Clinton (42% to 50%) while he runs within the margin of sampling error of Obama and Edwards; McCain trails all three Democratic candidates by more than ten points each.
