McCain 48, Obama 46
(July: Obama 49, McCain 47)
OK... Like PPP flipped from Obama to McCain now so has Rasmussen. So has McCain advertised in Florida yet, or is it still heavy Obama buys? Why is not Obama gaining traction there with all his investment? Did it work against him?... Obama lost points from July. Yes, it is all within margin of error, but there may be a trend developing.

Obama doesn't need Florida and he knows it, but if he can make McCain waste resources he might as well contest it.

I noticed that George Bush got a 50% rating of fair to excellent. That is an improvement. I think that it might be a trend. The president has been out of the news and that's a good thing for McCain. Lord knows the newspapers have beat him to death for these past few years. However, the tide might be turning. The democrats can no longer campaign against George Bush. He no longer carries a charge. Barack Obama overshadows all else in the media. He is on the front page of all the major newspapers each day. McCain or Bush are rarely seen. Every slip up he makes will be magnified in the public's eye. This is like living in that tv program Big Brother.

That's one of the interesting variables of 2008, how Florida will compare to the national margin. It was roughly 2.5 points red in 2004, but the Florida state economy at the time was far superior to the national situation. That does not hold up now.
In 2008 I expected Florida to return to near parity with the nation but Obama's demographic weakness in the state will probably keep Florida 2-3 points red leaning, compared to the national popular vote.

This poll uses a very small sample. I would be interested in seeing a larger one. I would like to see if the margin stays the same.

Florida is a McCain state that Obama is performing above what would be expected. I think McCain is winning by between 1 and 3 which blows my mind because he should be up by 5. Once McCain starts advertising in FL, he'll be up by about 5 and it will turn pink.

lol. Check out the massive shift in new voter registrations in favor of the Democrats in Florida!
