I'm a PUMA and I would still pick McCain over Hillary.

Obama is going to pick a pro-life VP and is already supported by a pro-life PA senator, so I'm not worried about McCain and Roe vs. Wade

He's run by the ethanol lobby that is just as evil as the oil companies (Monsanto, anyone?)

And Obama's huge supporter whose endorsement (and delegates) helped seal the deal for most superdelegates might not be mysogynist, but is a lying hypocrat that attacked the Clintons on their morals while he was cheating on his dying wife while parading her around to get pity points in the polls. If not for it being about to be found, he would have been a serious VP contender. The hypocrite and the megalomaniac.

Honestly, at least with McCain I know what I'd be getting.

Admittedly, if I could vote and if Nader would be running in PA, my vote would be for Nader, a true socialist, rather than McCain.

These are good numbers for Obama and Collins, which seems to suggest that Independents are splitting their preferences.

Let's assume Obama wins Maine. The significance may be the extent of the victory as it compares to New Hampshire, which is a very key state for Obama with its 4 electoral votes. In the last four elections, Maine has voted more democratic than New Hampshire by 8 points on average. A 14 point win in Maine would then lead to the conclusion that Obama also wins New Hampshire. Currently 538 has Maine projected at Obama +12.4 and New Hampshire projected at Obama +3.1, a 9.3 point difference, very close to the historical (last four elections) difference of 8 points.

Yeah, something needs to be done to ban accounts. I'm a pretty infrequent poster, but a regular reader of the comments. The partisanship by many of the posters doesn't bother me, as they keep their arguments rooted in the crosstabs, or how a recent current event might be affecting the race. Basically, I enjoy the armchair analysis by the many non-pollsters who comment, and I especially enjoy when Mark and others challenge and validate our assumptions through the blog posts.

I immensely enjoy the site, yet I completely stopped coming for awhile to check polls and other information here because of the number of "Watch out Billary!" and "Obama buyers remorse!" comments that flowed after every post. I was very happy when that died down after the primary and people went back to posting in complete thoughts. I'll just leave again if it continues to devolve like this over the next two and a half months.

To the people posting links to youtube and other bull****: The hearts and minds of the electorate are not going to be remotely influenced by your posts on this message board. If you actually care as much as your all caps posts suggest, go get plugged into the Obama and McCain campaigns in your state. They're always looking for more volunteers.

I'm interested in seeing the next poll from Ohio. Rasmussen had McCain up by 10 last month. I wonder if it was an outlier or what. Was there some event in Ohio that would cause that kind of a bump in the polls. Was Obama's trip to Europe cause that kind of negativity. It should be interesting to see where the next poll has it.
