It's interesting that the traditional swing states look a lot better for Obama than recently but the "new" swing states look a little worse.

I wonder what happened.

@killias, Actually this is a 3 point swing toward Obama since the last Rasmussen poll of 46-40 McCain.

Thank you Mike_in_CA for setting the record straight.

05/20 - 05/20 500 LV McCain 46%, Obama 40%

06/18 - 06/18 500 LV McCain 45%, Obama 42%

So, McCain loses 1% and Obama wins 2%, a 3% swing in Barack direction, but somehow Obama's numbers are looking worse in the state? Um, interesting.

Mason-Dixon reported something like this too:
06/09 - 06/11 625 LV McCain 44%, Obama 42%

Today Barack started airing TV ads in Nevada and other states. I think McSame had been doing it since 2 weeks ago, so why is he losing ground?

Yeah, Mcsame is losing ground because well, he's mcsame. Who wants more of the same? As more people know what mcsame stands for, more people are turned off by the crypt keeper. Not only does he lack the policy positions needed to win, he lacks everything else too. Just look at him. On a superficial level, who wants to see that for the next 4 years? Good God, not me.

I guarantee NV will go blue. Or your money back.

The trend is clear as has been pointed out. I believe after the first debate, it will be quite apparent which way this election is going.......sniff sniff....I smell landslide.

onelight - I am not by any means a McCain supporter, but please don't resort to name calling. I dislike and think McSame is bad enough - but the 'Crypt Keeper'?

This is just not necessary and it demeans Barack Obama. His message is hope and unity - not name calling.

Please all supporters of Obama - we must rise above the fray and not undermine his great message. I disagree with Republicans on virtually everything, but I certainly believe they have a right to speak and be heard without name calling. We can and will win on the basic issues that matter most, name calling will only make it harder to bring the country together in November.

Remember Obama supporters, one of the key reasons we did nopt want HRC as the nominee was the intense division; the gaping chasm that would then seperate Americans.

Respect those you disagree with, and we can then find some common ground to move forward on together. Come November, we will have much work to do as a Nation, and those who believe we can solve our problems with 51% of the population are sadly mistaken. We have a unique and historic oppurtunity to be the party of reason and moderation. I would hate to see us win all the battles and lose the 'war'.

Come November - Nevada will be BLUE.

Thanks to Jim Gibbons et al.

Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons(R) is embroiled in a public divorce, complete with his estranged wife, Dawn, requested the court to open the sealed divorce filing.

Dawn Gibbons has accused the governor of carrying an affair with another woman often seen with Jim Gibbon. The governor denied the accusation and maintained the unnamed woman is just his friend.

Aside from the divorce proceeding itself, the ex-couple's battle over their 23-room mansion has landed in the papers too, with People magazine headlining it "She Won't Move Out!"

Although the Gibbons placed their court battle temporarily on hold Monday as they try to negotiate their domestic situation, the messy, public divorce is seen as likely taking a toll on Gibbons' political future. However, his term does not end until 2010.

On top of his marital woes, the governor also is in the middle of an FBI investigation over allegations he received gifts from a defense contractor when he was still in Congress.
