POLL: Rasmussen Reports GOP Florida Primary

A new Rasmussen Reports automated survey of 685 likely Republican primary voters in Florida (conducted 12/13) finds former Gov. Mike Huckabee running slightly ahead of former Gov. Mitt Romney (27% to 23%) in a statewide primary; former Mayor Rudy Giuliani trails at 19%, former Sen. Fred Thompson at 9%, Sen. John McCain at 6%.
All other candidates receive less than five percent each. The margin of sampling error is 4% for likely Republican primary voters.

wow--with giuliani hopping up and down about his massive lead in florida with russert last weekend, if this holds, it will really be devastating to his campaign

Ain't that the truth. I don't get this Huckabee thing, but I get it more in Iowa than I do in Florida...

I do not get Huckabee either. For a Republican voter I would think that Huckabee does not show enough back bone in any shape or form. The President is not a religious leader, he is a leader and the problem with Hackabee is that he is entirely too flexible in negotiations. There is no way that he would hold the line on any leftist/progressive or otherwise damaging to the fabric of American life pushes that the Democrats try to push through.
For this reason, I lean towards Rudy, because he at least stands up and fights.

Since September Rasmussen poll, we have seen significant changes as follows: Huckabee up 22+ (did not reach 5 percent in Sept.), Romney up 12, McCain down 6, Guiliani down 10, Thompson down 14. Although Florida is one of the renegade states in terms of scheduling their primary, and as such, will lose delegates, it is the last January primary that precedes the megaprimary on Feb. 5.
