This is pretty much exactly as I thought it would be at this point.

To be honest, I do not understand why Obama didn't include Texas in one of his red states to target. The Democratic primary had unbelievable turnout and he did rather well. And it's one of the most diverse states in the country, ethnically speaking.

Ah well.

Texas is an expensive state to advertise in as it is the biggest lower 48 state, and has the second biggest population.

Obama did send staff to support state-level Democrats as the legislature could well go Democratic, and this is important when it comes to redistricting. The state however is by no means winnable for Obama. Not even Bill Clinton carried Texas while it was itself dominated by Democrats at the state level.

Texas will go blue this election. There is an underground effort to register many, many new voters. Pundits and many here will have egg on their faces come November 5.

Funniest line so far on MSNBC, Pat B. said Obama taps Joe Biden who got a couple thousand votes and said its your job to go get the 18m Hillary got. Good Luck with that!

My party's convention is unwatchable. How many tied polls do you need to see to understand the Bush-McCain link will not stick. Not only was today's Gallup poll tied at 45%, but tied down to the exact number of votes. No Biden bounce?

However, I am worried about the Hill/Bill endorsement. It might work. If Obama shoots up to a 10+ point lead after the convention, he probably has it in the bag. People who care about electing a qualified candidate will be scared. If no big bounce by next week, it's on. We have a race!

Biden bounce? Not that I'd expect a bounce but do you generally come to conclusions before the rest of the world gets their Monday newspaper?

Just because the Republican party is still
twitching does not mean it is not brain dead.

Two terms for Barack, then two terms for
Michelle, with or without Texass...By then,
the U.S. demographics will put the Democratic
Party of today at the right end of the American
political spectrum. Repubs will be figures
you visit in a wax museum.

Jimmy Carter won Texass, why not Barack?

Carter also won Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, etc., but that doesn't mean that Obama should spend money in those states.
