POLL: SurveyUSA KY Gubernatorial
A new SurveyUSA automated survey of 560 likely voters in Kentucky (conducted 7/14 through 7/16) finds Steve Beshear leading Gov. Ernie Fletcher 59% to 36% in a statewide gubernatorial general election match-up.

Beshear isn't known in the state, and pollsters may give an introduction for who he is. That's just a guess.

I don't know. Besides serving as Lt. Gov, he was the Dem nominee for US Senate in '96. People may not be familiar with his positions, but his name should at least ring a bell.
i asked this question when the previous poll was listed. my understanding is that the "Insider" poll does not allow for leaners. Also, Fletcher's numbers remain quite static from poll to poll suggesting that the "undecideds" will break for the challenger in the end (as they usually do) and the final numbers will probably be pretty close to the this poll and others.
Insider Advantage is run by Matt Towery, a columnist for TownHall.com. He used to be Newt Gingrich's campaign chairman too. It would seem to me that Insider Advantage is a Republican polling firm, much like Strategic Vision.
That's a pretty huge disparity in the two most recent polls-a 3 point lead vs. a 23 point one. Any thoughts on what's going on here?
