POLL: SurveyUSA South Carolina Dem Primary

A new SurveyUSA automated survey of 496 likely Democratic primary voters in South Carolina (conducted 12/17 through 12/18) finds:

  • When asked to choose among three candidates, Sen. Hillary Clinton runs at 41%, Sen. Barack Obama at 39%, and former Sen. John Edwards at 17% in a statewide primary.
  • The margin of sampling error is 4.5% for likely Democratic primary voters.

Paul:

As posted elsewhere relative to IA and NH, if Edwards does not win IA and pickup steam, he is so far behind Clinton and Obama, I do not see how he can catch up and there are the Feb 5 primaries all over the country where there is no way to get to the people except through media buys and he cannot compete with the fund raising machines Clinton and Obama have.
