POLL: SurveyUSA South Carolina Republican Primary

Additional results from the recent SurveyUSA automated survey of 593 likely Republican primary voters in South Carolina (conducted 12/17 through 12/18) finds:

  • When asked to choose among five candidates, former Gov. Mike Huckabee leads former Gov. Mitt Romney (28% to 18%) in a statewide primary; Sen. John McCain trails at 16%, former Sen. Fred Thompson at 15%, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani at 12%.
  • The margin of sampling error is 4.1% for likely Republican primary voters.

Comments
Paul:

Another poll where Giuliani is showing low teens. If Giuliani loses badly in IA and NH, he needs to do well in MI because his polls in SC have not been strong.

Scott Edwards:

I wish these SurveyUSA polls would be ignored considering they show their bias by not even including all the candidates in an 'automated' survey. I mean how hard would it be to add 2 or 3 more options to a list of 5 when a phone has 10 numbers on it?
