Pres & Sen results of likely voters
McCain 43, Obama 38, Barr 1, Nader 1
Sen: Cornyn (R-i) 38, Noriega (D) 36
This seems to support Obama's strategy to campaign in Texas. He has very little chance of winning there, but boosting turnout of his core constituencies could help Noriega get Cornyn's scalp. Which would be huge. I mean the win would be huge, I can only speculate as to the size of Cornyn's scalp.

I'm sorry, I just can't put much credence in a single poll that shows Texas close for Obama. If Rasmussen or SurveyUSA confirm it, then I'll believe it. I suspect that some polling organizations are realizing the media's penchant for touting the latest numbers without context and using that to gain publicity.

You hit the nail on the head! So many little-known pollsters are coming out of nowhere these days...
I would only trust Rasmussen, SUSA or PPP for credible numbers.

EXACTLY. That NV poll is a disgrace.

This poll was conducted over 8 days. Seems a little strange...
I think Texas is closer than McCain's camp would like, but hardly "close." And don't forget that Texas is the second most populous state in the union so closing even a 5 pt. gap would be pretty daunting.
