Rasmussen and the Colbert Repoll: Truth Grinding

In case you missed it, last night's Colbert Report included an interview with pollster Scott Rasmussen that began with an extended metaphor on polling as a "Truth Grinder" and Colbert's own proven-to-be "scientific" online poll. Regular readers will want to watch it all.

I think only people with really low IQs would find Colbert or Stewart funny. All they have is smart-alec remarks without any good jokes. The days of Carson and Leno are gone being replaced by these phonies.

Leno? You're holding up Leno as some beacon of high IQ viewers and golden comedy? Are you serious? Leno is a hack who appeals to a shrinking audience of people who want their "comedy" bland and spoon fed to them.
Stewart and Colbert viewers are just low IQ ninnys? Just the opposite in fact: their viewers have been consistently found to be better informed than any others. Several polls from Pew and other organizations have asserted this.
They manage a double whammy of actually being funny and doing a better job of journalism than 90% of full time reporters.

Here's a large sample poll by Annenberg which I particularly like:

Long story short: Daily Show viewers are more educated, more informed, and make more money than the average adult, including the average Leno/Letterman viewer.
Enjoy, FM.

Serously Field Marshall. Leno?? Comeon. You just lost all credibility right there. The guy is a hack.
As for Stewart and Colbert, why don't you watch Stewart's Fox News clip from a few months ago where he rips the network a new one. Or watch his UNEDITED interview with O'Reilly.
Although Stewart and Colbert do joke around a lot and, as is the nature of comedians, at times do take cheap shots, there is more critical thinking and intelligence in that one hour than Faux News displays the entire day.

Why can't we go back further and say Andy Griffith was the king of comedy. Wow Field Marshall lol wow...

I would much prefer Andy Griffith to Leno or most of the other hacks we have today. You don't mess with Matlock!

Wow... looks like i struck a left wing nerve! God forbid someone disagree with the ubber-tolerant left... LOL.
I used to watch Leno but prefer Kimmel and Conan. Colbert and Stewart's comedy doesn't do it for me.
And for the record, from what I've watched, they lambaste all the news networks equally. Deservedly so i might add. What makes me laugh is when a left winger than tries to tell me that Fox News is fake while MSNBC and NBC and CBS are true bellwethers of news mediums. That's hysterical.

Johnny is still the best. I don't care what anybody says.

It's not you disagreeing, it's you being utterly wrong. If you say insult people without any evidence, don't try to blame "striking a left wing nerve" when you get steamrolled by the truth.

That's right, FM. How DARE anyone disagree with your taste in late-night comedy. Clearly, you are being brutally oppressed by the Gestapo-like liberal political correctness machine!
No doubt the thugs from ACORN will be knocking on your door any night now.

"I think only people with really low IQs would find Colbert or Stewart funny."
You're starting to sound like an elitist...
