When you have a handpicked candidate by the teabaggers, all voting Democratic for the mentally challenged black guy, what do you expect? This is such an outrage. This poll proves he didn't get actual votes from Black democrats, if only 18 percent think favorably of him. SC has about a 36 percent black population. This state needs a clear examination.

If Mark sanford had done that in a state near me, like in VT NY, PA, NH, CT and MA he would have been ousted immediately. Anyone who can lie about his whereabouts, use state money for his plain, and so forth, and have an affair with a foreign mistress on top of that, would never go here. You could bet if this happened with Deval Patrick for instance, he would resign, and be leaving the state due to embarrasment.

Obviously the ethics in SC resemble that of a banana Republic, and I hope that strong voices for integrity in politics down there will stand up to this crap.

Flap: That is a blatant lie. So all the Tea Partiers decided to vote for Greene, while ignoring their own Governors primary- a primary with an extraordinary turnout? Liar.

Like a Democrat would win in South Carolina anyways? Better off in Utah.

Dave,

Farleft is fairly deluded. Don't encourage him by responding to his nutty posts.

I have no smoking GUn to prove my point, but there also isn't any smoking gun for the Birthers to prove Obama was born in Kenya, so there you go.

Democrats do win in SC, just like Republicans can do very well in parts of NY State. There are too many unanswered questions about Alvin Greene, and I also wonder why a independent didn't try to take Demint on?

I saw many people listen to Greene's first speech, and it was the African American community, many of who claimed to have voted for the other guy.

This would not be unprecedented, because MS had open Democratic primaries, and some republicans voted twice and did vote for Hillary because Obama was the candidate they thought presented a greater fear, and he is black. I would never put crap like this past anyone in these states. This is 2010, but sometimes I feel like it might as well be 1955 when it comes to race relations in some places. It is pathetic.

For the record, I just looked up SC's primary rules to find out the following:

Open, but when runoff elections are used, voters must vote in same party's runoff election as they voted for in the first round election.

Of course the Tea baggers could have voted for the sexy princess, Nikki Haley, and since they know Jim Demint will win anyhow, why not vote for a candidate like Alvin Greene, who is going to embarrass himself. It is quite possible, the conservatives split their ballot, to pick the unknown candidate, Alvin Greene.

I think that too many blacks in SC and other places in the south don't pick up on the racism that still exists. I think if this were IL, or PA or CA there would have been a better investigation, and even if they couldn't prove anything, more citizens would have been concerned their was a conspiracy.

Greene got more votes then was cast,i still believe the Democrats needs to check out those voting machine before the Midterms, because this doesn't sound right.

I wanna know who the 20% are.

Farleftandproud:

The 20 percent are those who hate Demint, and I bet that Demint will get only about 60 percent of the vote. I bet there will be some Write in for those who are insulted the GOP chose such a bad candidate as Alvin Greene.

Hahaha, I forgot to put my tinfoil hat on. I think Occam's razor applies here. What is the most likely scenario? The South Carolina Democrats are so inept they managed to have 2 no namers in the primary and one of them won. OR, it was a vast right conspiracy by Jim Demint, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Sharon Angle, Paul Ryan and other extremists (have I forgotten anyone?), to utilize voting machines to fix the vote in favor of Demint so he can win by 40 points instead of his usual 20.
Hmmm.... Tough choice.
