Comments
Ouch, more bad numbers for the pres in key swing states.
VA - 42/54
WI - 45/50
IA - 45/51
All states he won pretty easily and his job approval is falling. VA he is getting killed. I wish they polled nothing but purple states instead of Kentucky and Cali....

I agree. Would like to see CO, NC, and IN instead of CA, KY, and NY.

It isn't news that BO's numbers are on a downward trend. More interesting to me are the numbers for Senators running for re-election next year.
(Rep)
Shelby: +23
Grassley: +20
Bunning: -20
(Dem)
Boxer: +2
Schumer: +24
Gillibrand: Even
Wyden: +21
Murray: +4
Feingold: +2
(Rep retiring)
Brownback: +18
Sen. Bond: +12
One R in trouble and four D vulnerable.

I thought it might be interesting to compare BO's job approval today with election night results.
State Poll/2008 change
Alabama 40/39 +1
California 62/61 +1
Iowa 45/54 -9
Kansas 45/42 +3
Kentucky 36/41 -5
Minnesota 53/54 -1
Missouri 48/49 -1
New Mexico 52/57 -5
New York 58/63 -5
Oregon 54/57 -3
Virginia 42/53 -11
Washington 51/58 -7
Wisconsin 45/56 -11
Recall that between election day and the end of 2008 his approval numbers went up. So comparing today and election day and getting a small positive number is not necessarily good. And other little factors like the Gov of KS joined his cabinet.
2012 is still a long way off. And if the election were tomorrow I doubt we would be able to send Obama into retirement. But things are moving our way!

Go back and do the same exercise for Clinton in 1993. Then look at the 1996 election result. Rinse and repeat until some spark of intelligence appears in your brain.
Or you run out of water -- whichever comes first.

Actually not too bad considering we are in the midst of a red hot battle over health care. I still maintain when this over and things settle down the general economy will take center stage and when people see things getting better (it already is) then all bets are off.

@conspiracy:
they are? Do the hundreds of thousands of Americans each month still losing their jobs think its getting better? Unemployment is heading to 10+.....or will the 9 trillion dollar deficit obama is spending over the next 10 years supposed to make it al lbetter?
I told you 6 months ago there woudl be a temporary blip upward i nthe economy and then it would come right back down due to another wave of foreclosures, retail closings and inflation........................
This term being floated about by hte left, a jobless recovery? Wha tis that?
