Interesting that this poll seems to suggest that people don't think Obama is doing enough to be Bi-partisan. 45 percent is a lot. Nevertheless, this is much better than Bush polled on bi-partisanship.

A staggering example of the RNC's preception of why they continue to be unpopular.

The best thing for the Dems to do, is concede some seats in the house and senate, where tea party ideas have taken over, moderate democratic ideas in much of the south. The year is early and Dems in progressive or moderate districts will keep an eye on GOP senate and house candidates and watch to see how they distance themselves from the fringe groups in the redder areas. It will be a challenge for them and they will have to move to the right to win the far right voters in their base.

This is a bad seed the GOP is planting. If the economy starts doing better, then things could go South real fast for Republicans if people view them as being extremely partisan.

I was wondering how long it would be before one of the networks came running to O's defense.

Listen to you guys, the GOP is unpopular, things could go south for them....yet they keep winning elections....and doing so in races they are not supposed to win, NJ, MA.

Not only that, in current polling the GOP is killing the Dems in upcoming senate races and will probably pick up a minimum of 6 seats.

And you guys still blah blah about like you know what your talking about. reality doesn't match up with anything you guys are yapping about.

Obamalover. Regarding stillow, and republicans in general. They have this weird tendency to think that everyone is just like them. Hence statements such as "we are going to take back America for real Americans," "Americans dont want such and such," "We represent true Americans" and & and & and &.

Whats really funny, is if you go anywhere in the world, their picture of America is most likely NYC, LA, San Francisco, Seattle. Probably not Yakima, Ogden, and Nowhere Oklahoma.

NJ, the GOP was supposed to win since Christy was a moderate and you've got that old fashioned wall street Republican streak in NJ. Mass, however was a hugs shock. I think Mass. should change the law to do what they can do in Louisiana and CA and recall a senator.

Yeah, I know in parts of rural upstate, NY there is the same small town sceptism that "we represent the true Americans" and those people in NYC are wierd and less American. I am sure there are many here who would welcome a visit by Palin, but she would decline because the big city media from the big cities would beat her to it.

It is interesting that conservatives attack "Manhattan liberal elitists" as being un-American when they were the ones who were attacked on 9/11.

Not only is the GOp winning in states its not supposed to, but in the latest swing state election, VA, I think for the first time ever the GOp won all 3 of the top races.

Yet you ugys sit in denial....and you continue to push forward with your far left attacks. Your president who you claimed symbolized a new permanant majoirty is polling in the mid 40's on approval.

What bothers me is that the people who spout that nonsense engage in their own form of elitism by insisting that those small towns and their inhabitants are superior to those who inhabit the major cities.

When was the last time these rural folks made a meaningful contribution to American civilization? They bitch about the elites but it is because of these same elites that they have modern technology, medicine and science. Tourist do not come see rural Kansas. They come to see Manhattan, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, seattle etc.

Those rural folks tend to be paranoia and think and delude themselves that they're the real Americans. Meanwhile, those they consider elites are the ones who continue to reform America in terms of science, technology and inventions, which has conspired to make America great. Additionally, these rural folks are net receivers of government monies.

Rural Americans think that big-city Americans are snobby elitists, and big-city Americans think that rural Americans are just a bunch of uneducated hicks. Both stereotypes are just as uninformed and ignorant as the other. Since when is being homogeneous part of being American?

On a side note, since when did tourist's views of what America is define what America actually is?

I guess you never go to the grocery store and buy food.....its rural folks who grow the food you eat, raise the animals you eat at your sunday bbq............what an idiotic thing you said..............

Actually most of our food comes from big corporations, those rural folk could easily be replaced with immigrants. Physical labor is easy to replace.

Next time you go to a Wal-Mart supercenter, look where the produce comes from. I bet that 4 of 5 products are not from America.
