As an European who cares a lot for diplomacy and really miss the policy of cooparation, this would be greetet as a fantastic team.
But of course, it´s very sad if she wount run in 2016, and that won´t happend unless she run for office after some years.

Hillary Clinton doesn't have any foreign policy credentials. you can have a policy of cooperation without throwing an important job like State at a political opponent to show how bi-partisan you are.

I think her standing in Europe is very high! She is very well liked over her.. And if President-Elect Obama want to restore Americas standing with Her allies, she would be a perfect choise!

Obama is certainly putting together a very strong and dynamic Cabinet with more to follow:

There can be no question that both Houses of Congress will be on side as well.(Emanuel and Biden).

If Hillary Clinton is Sec State, she certainly has the skills and intellect to be a great one, is Al Gore going to be Environmental Enforcer or is Arnold going to leave California?

Holder at Justice; Daschle at Health;Napolitano at Homeland Security

Gosh the incoming Obama administration aren't wasting any time.

George Bush ruined the word experience and credentials. I don't want to hear it. Hillary would be a fine secretary of state just as I know FOR SURE I could be a better president than Bush, with ZERO leadership experience. Common sense is HUGE in this world folks.

For me, the question is not whether or not Hillary has the experience (because I think she does) or whether or not she will be accepted by the global community (I know she will) but rather a question of loyalty and honor. I've disliked Hillary since 1994 when her totally inappropriate meddling torpedoed the health care reforms that this country so desperately needs. I have also heard since 1994 that my dislike and distrust of Hillary must be based in misogyny and fear of strong women. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Hillary has shown herself repeatedly to be duplicitous, power-hungry, and overwhelmingly self-serving. There is a huge risk to putting a person like that in your cabinet. I'm not convinced that Hillary would not turn on Obama the first chance she got if she thought it would get her elected in 4 or 8 years.

On one hand, I believe that Hillary is a powerful politician with strong alliances that will allow her to work efficiently and swiftly (which is I begrudgingly supported her campaign after Edwards dropped out), and she would be an incredible asset to the Obama campaign.

On the other hand, I just don't trust her, and I don't think I ever will. I don't believe a word this woman says. Ever.

Ultimately, my decision (since my opinion is ever so important to the leaders of this country) would be to offer her the post for the simple reason that nobody else strikes me as qualified enough. Bill Richardson is a great guy with great opinions, but Sec State seems like the wrong place for him. Make him Drug Czar or put him in charge of immigration or HUD. John Kerry deserves some political thanks, but he's a centrist wimp as opposed to a centrist powerhouse like Hillary.

We finally cleared Washington of all the Doles and Bushes, can't we ditch the Clintons yet, too? Can't I go one week of my life without hearing the name Clinton? Please?

I pretty much agree with you. Hillary's smart but just plain mean. I guess I'd be mean, too if I were married to Bill.

Richardson's just the opposite, too nice, but a good guy for something. And Kerry's just not all that bright.

So if it's between those three, Hillary's it, but can she be a team player?

Hello again, P Rocks
I'm sorry you weren't president, too. All I've read is your posts and you're already more qualified than Dubya. Eight years! For what? I can't even think about the damage he and his people have done. It's nauseating.
Anyway, we Oregonians did our part to stop the insanity. I'm proud of that.

Clinton as SOS...say it aint so... I trust Obama but I hope he knows that though he is no-drama Obama... here come the Clintons (with the marching band, the clowns and the trapeze acts).
Which is not to say that she isnt the best face of America abroad, and a successful 8-year Obama presidency all but guarantees a clinton presidency next, but grab the popcorn her comes the sideshow...
